What is so great about electric RC helicopters? There are many different reasons why electric remote control helicopters are so popular. Mainly the best points are they have electric motors, they are easy to maintain and just as easy to fly. And last but not lease these remote control helicopters are much more quite than conventional gas or nitro powered helicopters.

The world of green energy is upon us, and even the RC hobby world has taken a turn for energy saving technology with equipping RC helicopters with electric motors. This is a awesome new advance to the hobby of remote control toys. No longer do you have to buy nitrous fuel to burn in remote control helicopters and the need for engine repairs. They are designed with an electric motor that can be charged after every flight via USB cord or and AC outlet. The electric motor is powered by a powerful Li Po battery. Li Po stands for Lithium polymer. They are involved in every aspect of RC hobbies. With these batteries they come in many different channels from 2 up to 4 channels, giving a wide range to choose from. In all electric motors are the first reason why electric RC helicopters are so popular.

While they come with electric motors these RC helicopters are very easy to maintain and to fly. When it comes to maintaining the electric RC helicopter there is barely anything that would need to be done maybe a hand here, or a single screw driver there. Back when gas and nitro was popular, you had to know a thing or two about the engines and the way the servos worked. Nowadays that has all changed and these remote control helicopters are less to worry about, making a wider range of pilots to take in to this hobby. Electric RC helicopters are very durable and can survive most crashes while in flight with out a serious problem. The engines being so complicated made inexperienced enthusiasts' un willing to contribute money to a hobby that may be short lived. Electric RC helicopters are a lot easier to fly due to gyros and multiple propellers. Making remote control helicopters from needing tail rotors, they never cut out in mid-flight like gas helicopters can, and when the electric RC helicopter battery drains out of power it will gradually lose power making it easier to make unexpected landings. They are also a hundred times more reliable then those gas engines when you take your RC helicopter out to a field and go to start it up and it won't fail to start due to the cold, moisture, or just because it wants to act up on you. Making these remote control helicopter electric motors easier to count on.

The last big point with electric RC helicopters and their popularity is the sound reduction. With gas motors the sound, and the amount of pollution that these remote control helicopters created was not suitable to be flown around houses and neighborhoods. Since RC helicopters have merged with electric motors then those aspects of RC helicopters have mostly vanished. These electric models have had the ability to become smaller in size and create no pollution and best of all no longer make the huge noise disturbance. Giving more likeness to picking up this exhilarating hobby.

In conclusion the world is mad about these great RC helicopters, They contribute there success to the electric motors that where installed into the remote control helicopters making the user more able use the helicopters with electric motors, the less of a need to have to make repairs, and the helicopters durability, and they are extremely quite making sure not to disturb your neighbors. Giving way to the growing popularity of electric RC helicopters

There are various types of these helicopters to choose from. Each type has its own speciality which makes it different from the other one. It means there are a variety of choices for the right person. Generally the typical remote control helicopters come with a single-rotor which includes a main and tail rotor. These two rotors are used to control the movement and stability of the helicopter.

The pilot who is an expert in flying dual-rotor or coaxial rotor remote control helicopters can find it a little different to fly one with a single-rotor. Don't worry; a person can easily get the type or specialty he is looking for in this toy helicopter. So, let's talk about the various types of this toy helicopter.

Mainly there are two types of RC helicopters available. They are gas remote control helicopter and electric remote control helicopter. Electric remote control helicopter has some types for different needs. Let's start with the gas powered ones. One thing should be cleared first and that is, gas powered remote control helicopter is not for the beginners. They are equipped with gas powered engine and the most advanced technology. In fact, only a gas RC helicopter can get a real helicopter-like experience. The engine noise is like a real helicopter which adds up a little more excitement. These helicopters have complicated parts which are best for the advanced pilots.

Electric versions of these helicopters are affordable easy to use. These helicopters are powered by battery. At the beginning years, electric versions of these helicopters were pretty expensive but the models found in these days are comparatively affordable. Only the affordability has made these electric devices popular in the market.

There are various types of electric remote helicopter. One of the types is mini electric helicopters which is the small version of RC helicopters. It creates no noise and can be flown easily backyard. Another version is the micro one, which is only 8 inch in length. Such helicopters can be flown in the living room. The electric version of this helicopter is best for the beginners.

Remote control helicopter is not just a toy anymore. So, get the one that suits you to get the most of it. Enjoy the flying experience.
RC Helicopter
An enthusiast who is passionate to fly a helicopter can live his dream without getting off the ground, made possible by an RC helicopter. Flying the helicopter has become a cherished pastime for a seasoned flyer, as it is for a novice who wants to learn the tricks of this trade. Moreover, flying this RC vehicle has become a lifetime hobby for many enthusiasts, which indicates the sort of pull that this activity exercises over ardent flyers. A novice who is keen to fly a helicopter should hand pick the right one, which is the best way to get started with this popular pastime activity.

Gas or Electric RC helicopter

As there is a wide range of helicopters available in the market, it becomes difficult for a novice to identify the best one that suits him. The two prime helicopter types that demand the attention of a beginner takes the form of Gas and Electric remote control helicopters. Both these types come with their own advantages and disadvantages, and a beginner should glean relevant details about the helicopters to make an informed decision.

Nitro RC Helicopter – Advantages and disadvantages

This type of helicopter is held as the favorite option of ardent flyers, and there are a great many varieties of this helicopter available in the market. There are several advantages of picking nitro helicopters during the initial phase, as these helicopters afford longer flight times. When the novice picks this type of helicopter, he is well placed to tweak the engine to get enhanced horsepower out of this nitro helicopter.

There are disadvantages that come along with this helicopter, as it can produce annoying noise that can test the patience of the avid flyer. Moreover, one has to carry a lot of gear to fly this helicopter, which can reduce the fun afforded by this exciting pastime activity. When it comes to adjustment tools and extra fuel concerning nitro helicopters, a beginner may be tested to the core and may lose the charm of flying a remote control helicopter.

Electric RC Helicopter – Advantages and disadvantages

In most cases, the electric helicopter is considered to be the best bet for beginners, where this variety makes it easy for a novice to get started with this alluring pastime activity.  The motors belonging to this helicopter produce little noise, and it is easier for a beginner to fly this helicopter. Electric helicopter scores over its gas counterpart by getting recognized as the most environmental friendly helicopter out of the two, and this type of helicopter is cleaner than the nitro helicopters.

There are no carburetor adjustments or fuel lines that can get clogged, and a novice finds it easy to fly an electric helicopter. But, an electric helicopter can lead to shorter flying times, owing to loss of power caused by drained batteries.

While the novice is eager to cherry pick the best helicopter, he should offer his focal attention on all relevant aspects of the helicopters, and should consider the price of the helicopter before handpicking the right RC helicopter.
Top RC Helicopters
RC (Remote Control) Helicopter flying has become a hobby for those who have the passion on helicopters. RC Helicopter flying is better than flying a real helicopter because it costs less and completely safe from crashing. There are different designs of rc helicopters like :

1. Toy electric helicopters.

2. Electric coaxial helicopter.

3. Electric fixed pitch helicopter.

4. Collective pitch helicopter.

Toy helicopters are the helicopters  which  does not have full directional control. Toy helicopters are easy to fly for beginners. Spare parts f this helicopter are not easily available meaning once the helicopter is damaged in crash it is impossible to get it up and running again.

Coaxial helicopters have two rotors mounted one above the other on a common axis. The rotors rotate in opposite directions. These types of helicopters are easy to learn to fly. The weight of these helicopters are from 50 gm to 250grams.

Electric fixed pitch rc helicopters are light weighted they are quite robust to crash. A fixed pitch helicopter flies very similarly to a collective pitch helicopters. Collective pitch helicopters has number of advantages over fixed pitch helicopters like they have better control response and ability to auto rotate. These are of two types i.e.

a. Electric collective pitch rc helicopters.

b. Nitro collective pitch rc helicopters.

Electric collective pitch helicopters are smaller models can be flown indoors in sports hall they can also be flown in large empty parks. The disadvantage of these types helicopters is that they are affected by the wind due to their low weight. They also have much more sensitive controls than larger helicopters. Nitro collective pitch helicopters generally starts from 3kg.Due to their size and large weight they requires dedicated flying site to fly so they cannot be operated without training . The extra size and weight make them easier to fly, but the crash costs are more.

Power Source of RC Helicopters:

There are two types power sources for remote control helicopters. These are:

1.Electric  remote control Helicopters

2.Nitro Helicopters

Electric Helicopters are powered by batteries. The cheaper models use Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) cells, whereas the better ones use Lithium Polymer (LiPo) cells .For the same amount of power LiPo batteries are much lighter than NiMH batteries .LiPo batteries must be charged with special LiPo charger and they must not be over discharged otherwise damaged permanently .Recharging a battery takes about an hour so regular flier must have two battery packs.

Nitro helicopters run on a liquid fuel containing methanol and nitromethane (for power) and oil (for lubrication). In general Nitro helicopters much larger than electric helicopters .It is very easy to refill fuel tank so nitro helicopters can be flown almost  continuously as compared to electric remote control helicopters. Nitro helicopters come in different sizes like 15, 30, 50, 60 and 90. These numbers originated from the size of engine used in the different models. Some other sources of power like petrol but very small number of larger helicopters use this.

Although RC helicopters are generally used for recreational purposes, but sometimes they are used in applications such as  filming, policing, and remote observation .Some companies make RC helicopters specifically for these uses.
